It was a dream come true for the diaspora Mar Thoma Community when a third Mar Thoma Church came to existence on January 4, 2004. Since then, regular worship services were held at the mother parish in Des Plaines until the construction of a new church in Lombard Illinois on October 21, 2006. This historic transition was made possible by the grace of God Almighty, friendly cooperation from the mother church, and the willingness and dedication of approximately 110 families who took the initiative for an amicable transition. Currently, we are blessed with 180 families. Our church proudly stands in the midst of an ecumenical community for its various religious and socio- economical activities. At the present, our Vicar and spiritual leader Rev. Shaji Thomas is serving as the President of the Ecumenical Council.

Every first Sunday of the month, Malayalam Holy Communion Service is held at 10.00 am, alternating weeks with English services. Our Sunday school, Edavaka Mission, Sevika Sankhom, Choir and Youth Groups are very active and are the integral part of the church body. We are proud sponsor various mission fields in India as well as being a helping hand in the local community

Today in this 21st centaury, we still speak about ecumenism but the interfaith pluralism and taboos still exist. When we proceed with the love of faith, harmony and peace, some value of ecumenism shall be restored. Lately, trough many programs, the ecumenical council made remarkable progress uplifting the spiritual and cultural harmony among the Christian Malayalee community in the Chicago region.
